The European protection of the family: the interplay of the treaty on European Union, the charter of fundamental rights and the European convention on human rights. The best interest of the child principle as developed by the European Court of justice and the European Court of human rights. EU implications on national legal systems: the Italian system as a model legislation in the protection of the family. A system that needs to change?
