Abstract/Index

The issues affecting the WTO: an old story aggravated by recent events. The paralysis of the negotiating function at the Doha Round. The paralysis of the dispute settlement system: just the tip of an iceberg. A unique model of global governance. Resilience and flexibility of the WTO compared to other multilateral institutions. New opportunities and the viability of alternatives to the WTO in the mutated geopolitical, economic, and trade environment. The world “dis-order”: fragmentation, uncertainty, and the inescapable interdependence. The third way: open plurilateral agreements and the call for cooperation inside the WTO. The Trump era: every cloud has a silver lining.
