A comparative study of lobbying: defining the phenomenon through an historical perspective to explain its contemporary nature, its multiple manifestations and ramifications. The regulation of lobbying in the RU, a comparative study to understand the subject of the register and its later development in Italy. First legislative attempts aimed at regulating the activity of lobbying in Italy, the long road to the register. The institution and structure of the register seen through its functioning and by means of comparative analysis. The legacy of the register, how its application has influenced the approach of the Italian legispative and regulatory organs to the subject of interest representation.
