Abstract/Index

International space law as a propitious ground to a "war of position" given the context of rivalry between the US and China. The nexus between outer space, international law, and hegemony. The recent evolution of world politics and its implications on internatioinal space law. The ongoing battle between two historic blocs. The impact of the hegemonic rivalry between the US and China on international space law to safeguard the outer space environment. The deadlock of international cooperation to regulate the space environment with international space law. The increasing use of national regulations to boost the economic growth and increase power at the expense of the space environment. The excessive enthusiasm for new kinds of legal instruments to address space sustainability.
