Abstract/Index

The bank-customer relationship: from a branches-based approach to its recent dematerialization. Volumes and profits: the performance-driven banking system of the 1990s relying on territorial proximity. What do banks really need? A renewed interest in the relational approach and a customer-centric-service model. After the subprime crisis comes digital transformation: the bank-consumer relationship happens in a phygital environment. Why do relationships matter? Review of the extant theoretical literature. Could we really speak of a "paradigm shift": the contrast and complementarity of the transactional and relational models. The flywheel model: the potential downfall. Rewards, recognition and brand romance are still relevant in the new millennium? Research methodology. Research design developed: construct and items. Data collection process. Data anlysis, finding and discussion.
