Thesis statement: China's dominance in the semiconductor industry is likely to decline according to Vernon's theory, and this shift will have significant implications for the global economy. Semiconductors: a focus on the pivotal role in the economy. What are semiconductors and why are they so important? Background: the importance of semiconductors in the global economy. China’s investment in semiconductor manufacturing infrastructure. The impact of low labor costs on China's competitiveness. The potential for Chinese semiconductor firms to move up the value chain and focus on research and development. The potential for firms to relocate production to other countries with lower labor costs. The potential for other countries to gain a competitive advantage in the semiconductor industry.
