New business requirements: an introduction to CSR and sustainability. What exactly is CSR? Reasoning to adopt CSR. Stakeholder theory: what is it? What does “sustainability” mean? Why is sustainability such a big deal now? Historical overview of environmental sustainability and its implementation within CSR. How can we define environmental sustainability? Historical perspectives of the environmental sust. Social movements and activism: briefly examining the role of social movements and activism in driving environmental sustainability. How did the two topics come together? Education and awareness-raising: the role of educational institutions, NGOs and the media in promoting environmental literacy and the development of sustainable behavior patterns. Introducing ESG: what distinguishes “environmental, social and governance” and “CSR” from one another? The environment as a stakeholder? Environment and society. Ethical and environmental limits of the stakeholder theory. Analysis of material goods in today’s society: how to make the superfluous sustainable? Is materialism good for the world?
