Electricity consumption in France. France's electricity production and mix. The challenge of controllability is essential to ensure that supply meets demand. Macroeconomic issues: how the crisis has challenged Europeans' relationship with energy, sparking a desire for strategic autonomy. Freeing Europe from dependence has become an issue of energy sovereignty at a time when energy has become a weapon. The European electricity market has deepened the dependence between states, for better or for worse, while the crisis has accentuated the questioning of this mechanism. European policies to meet the challenge of ecological transition and strategic autonomy. Microeconomic issues: how the crisis has reaffirmed EDF as a lever of the French government's energy policy, at the cost of its independence and profitability? A strategic industrial history challenged by governance issues. EDF, the State's shield against the crisis and spearhead of the nuclear revival.
