Historical context: the strategic importance of Argentina and Latin America at the dawn of the cold war and Perón’s rise to power. The third position in the literature. The third position as the justicialist doctrine. Argentina’s relations with the superpowers and action in multilateral arenas. The Latin bloc and overseas expansionist ambitions. The crisis of the 1950s and the decline of the third position. Epilogue: the fall of the peronist regime and the end of the third position.
