Analysis of the legal definition of refugee status according to the 1951 refugee convention and its 1967 protocol. Examination of the criteria and requirements for qualifying as a refugee under international law. Extending the legal definition of refugee to climate refugees. Introduction to the concept of climate refugees. Overview of the impact of climate change on migration patterns. Analysis of the challenges in defining and identifying climate refugees. Examination of proposed definitions and criteria for recognizing climate refugees. Discussion on the legal implications of extending refugee status to individuals displaced by climate change.
