The formulation of the term genocide and its legal establishment. The nuremberg international military tribunal. “Crime against humanity”: unprecedent crime brought in during the trial. Lemkin’s work: axis rule in occupied Europe. Convention on the prevention and punishment of the crime of genocide. The controversial nature of the concept of “cultural genocide” and its exclusion from the genocide convention. The original conceptualization by Lemkin.
