Origins and evolution of migration policies in France and Italy: between history, legislation, and politicization. Immigration within the context of France’s colonial history and early reception policies. Early Italian immigration legislation and its evolutions. When immigration becomes an issue in France and Italy. Does these two distinct models generate different perceptions among the French and Italian population regarding immigration? Hypothesis. Data and methodology. Presentation of the results of our analysis.
