Overview of environmental social movements: what are they? When were they born? What is a social movement? Historical development of environmental, social movements with focus on UK's environmental, social movement. Civil, non-violent, disobedience. Extinction rebellion, the case of "non- violence" and "civil disobedience”. Historical overview of extinction rebellion and its demands. Extinction rebellion: principles and values. Extinction rebellion: people’s testimonial through the main organized protests. Are environmental social movements and civic activism necessary to save us from anthropogenic climate change? What are the leading critics that extinction rebellion face? Why non-violent social movements can be the answer to climate change? Is it possible to achieve a cohesive global environmental, social group to face climate change?
