Rare earth elements are the 21st century oil. Rare earth elements are not exotic: the paradoxical nomenclature. Rare earth elements & transition: a skyrocketing demand for clean energy technologies. Rare earth elements and their contraposition to fossil fuels. Similarities and differences between rare earth elements and other strategic metals: cobalt and lithium. Reconciling the end with the mean: achieving climate neutrality through a sustainable transition. Geological concerns: emphasis on quality rather than quantity.
