What i talk about when i talk about human rights. The classical concept of human rights and liberalism. The criteria of unified/declining regime of human rights. Morality in international relations as a key factor in the vulnerability of the liberal consensus on human rights. The right on derogation in the human rights consensus as a way for the liberal human rights consensus system to respond to emergency cases and overwhelming events (black swans). The role of the hegemon as the main actor in maintaining consensus and his use of the theory of democratic peace. The role of international organizations as an important actor in maintaining the liberal consensus on the implementation of human rights and their politics of balancing liberalism and realism. Consensus and non-liberal countries. Pros of the consensus: what do we have to lose. The impact of black swans on the unravelling of the liberal consensus on human rights: the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on liberal consensus. Black swan definition: pandemic as "black swan". The impact of the pandemic on the human rights consensus. The influence of Covid on the uniformity of values and the role of the hegemon as their guarantor. Case-study: the conflict on Ukraine as a sign of the decay of human rights consensus.
