GVC overview, determinants and industry cases. Theoretical concept and definitions of global value chain. The weights of GVC. How do GVC evolve over time? From the origin to nowadays and future trends: extrapolate determinants on global value chain participation. Global value chain findings in major industries. The automotive industry: statistics, key players and differences among battery electric vehicles (BEVs) & internal combustion engine (ICSs) global supply chain. Employment, trade and production. Key actors along the value chain and examples of most relevant OEMs around the world. OEMs in the transition between ICEs and BEVs. The increasing demand of battery supply in EVs manufacturing and their impact on consumer's final price. Policy support will continue to play a key role in accelerating the growth in EVs. Innovation to lower battery costs production. Dominant players in the near-by future and projections of the industry.
